  My husband and I were almost in tears last year when we walked by and found Downcity gone. We used to drive an hour just for the fantastic breakfast, and when in Providence, we would most often hit there for both dinner AND breakfast. What a loss. Last year the rumor was they are not going to rebuild.

  Very slow service! There were four of us in our party so we got seated and were told the specials. We ordered drinks which did not arrive for a good 15 minutes. We finally got our drinks then ordered our dinners. Almost eveything we ordered they were out of. It actually was amusing at first because they were out of something for each one of our orders. Finally we got our food and my burger, which i ordered with bacon and it came with no bacon on it. I had to wait about 10 minutes before we could get someone from the wait staffs attention and I had to ask for bacon. It took about 5 minutes to get the bacon for my burger and by the time I did get it everyone at my table was almost finished with their food. The food was alright nothing spectacular. We decided to get one more round of drinks and those took awhile to come out too. Against our better judgment we got dessert. We waited for our dessert for 30 minutes. It finally came out and it was very dissappointing. Extremely small and definately not worth the wait. I felt bad for our waitress. It seemed like there was no communication at all among the staff. It was very disorganized. I would never recommend this to anyone. There are so many great places in providence to eat. Dont waste your time or money here!
